Eid-ul-Fitr is known as Idul Fitri or Lebaran in
Indonesia. The Arabic meaning of the word ‘Idul Fitri’ is becoming holy
again. Idul Fitri is a grand festival which starts at the end of one
month of abstinence and by the sighting of the new moon and is
celebrated on the first of Shawwal (10th month of the lunar Islamic
calendar). Idul Fitri lasts for two days in the Indonesian calendar.
This year Idul Fitri 2014 is expected to be observed on July 28, 2014.
In some countries, they celebrate Ramazan Bayrami instead of Idul Fitri.
You can go through our Ramazan Bayrami 2014 post to know the dates and tradition behind this occasion.
